EverExceed has drawn on a long field experience in supplying batteries for telecom applications to identify Five Golden Rules for a TCO analysis that will result in a fully informed smart decision. These five golden rules will be discussed in this forum in a weekly series. To continue this series today we are going to describe last rule, rule number 5.
Rule 5: Validate the savings and feed them back into the ongoing process
Once the TCO analysis has been performed it is vital for the data to be verified. Real world data will tell you far more, and with greater accuracy than theoretical data. This is where EverExceed offers a particular advantage as we can call on more than 10 years of experience with Lithium iron phosphate applications around the world.
Lithium iron phosphate technology is of particular interest as monitoring is built into the system design for control and safety purposes. For EverExceed own LFP designs, our engineers are already able to download data locally, but in the near future we plan to be able to monitor these LFP batteries from anywhere in the world. Monitoring can also be made possible via the telecom equipment itself;
Once a decision has been made and the system deployed, we need to employ monitoring to measure real world values. No theoretical calculation on its own can ever provide total accuracy - loads vary, cycles vary, temperatures vary etc. But with data gathered from the field we can feed it back into the models to refine them and adapt them to represent specific sites that will become reference points in your network.
Use remote supervision not only to optimize maintenance and replacement operations, use it to build a library of data. Use this data to evaluate the real-world installation. Build on models that have already been used and take advantage of the wealth of experience that already exists.
